The proposal attached shows how the existing building envelope could be simplified and emulated, to remove any concerns of impact from the front, while being remodeled in a contemporary design using a palette of warm, natural materials.  The rear extensions could then be stepped up and away from the western boundary and terraced with a series of roof gardens / green roofs to further reduce the impact from the wester approach.

Feel this is the most likely way achieve the kind of floor area required while minimizing the visual impact, but still resulting in a spectacular home that makes the most of the sites best qualities.

Included some examples showing how contemporary architecture can be combined with natural materials and more traditional forms to give a warmer, more domestic feel to a home without it feeling like a glass box, yet still providing the wow factor.
